A father-of-two from Manchester claims he was forced to queue on the street in Benidorm at dawn to get a hotel room 1,500 miles from his original destination after Jet2 diverted his flight twice , as reported by the British newspaper Manchester Evening News.

The man traveled with his wife and two children. However, as they approached the islandpassengers were informed they would be diverted 30 minutes south to Tenerife due to “unforeseen operational difficulties.”

“We waited 40 minutes for our luggage, 30 minutes to get a bus and when we finally arrived in Benidorm at 5:15am, we had to queue in the cold to get a hotel room“, he told the MEN

“The hotel is right on the Benidorm leisure area, full of drunk people on a Saturday night. This flight is full of children,” they said over the public address system.

He says the family was given a room around 7:30 a.m., but told they had to check out in less than five hours, with no information about what would happen afterward.

“We all expect delays and accept the detour, but flying three hours back on a four-hour flight is ridiculous“He added. “It is worth noting that the crew and representatives were friendly and respectful,” he added.

In search of a solution

“I just want a solution so we can go on a family vacation”they stated.

Since then, Jet2 has informed them that they will be picked up at 4:00 p.m. for a flight at 7:30 p.m.
