Every day, even a Sunday, Tenerife becomes a big traffic jam, especially on its two main expressways, the TF-5 in the north and TF-1 in the southcollapsed yesterday with the presence of rain and several accidents that caused serious delaysespecially in the north, both in the morning and in the afternoon.

The rains appeared throughout the Canary Islands, leaving significant rainfall in some parts of the Islands, such as Tenerife.

This water, beneficial in many aspects, including helping to extinguish the Tenerife fire, has also once again revealed the state of Tenerife’s roads, which have clearly suffered from the rainfall.

An image, captured on the TF-1 highway, near Las Eras, in Fasnia, showed an authentic waterfall, the result of the recent rains, which is going to lead to one of the sides of the road, while all the vehicles that They returned from spending the weekend in the south and had to travel very carefully. But where there were monumental traffic jams, almost as if it were a Friday and not a Sunday, it was on the TF-5, between La Laguna and El Sauzal. Two accidents collapsed it.

The first, near El Sauzal, heading north, caused significant delays early in the morning after a vehicle overturned.

The second, with the same result of huge queues, occurred near Guamasa, early in the afternoon.

In both cases there were no personal misfortunes to be regretted, but there was enormous disappointment for motorists, who had to endure almost two hours of traffic jam on the highway.

However, despite the rough sea warning, the maritime routes between the islands did not suffer any setbacks yesterday.

It was announced that the height of the waves would reach a maximum of between 4 and 5 meters, but in the end they did not prevent the entry and exit of boats.

All those who returned by sea to Tenerife, however, had to be patient to get to their homes, given the traffic jam on the two highways, something unusual on a Sunday, although unfortunately common when “four drops” fall.

More rain

The weather forecast for today, Monday in the province of Tenerife, indicates that we will find generally cloudy skies with occasional weak rainfall that may be locally moderate, especially in the afternoon in inland areas and on the southeastern slope, where they could be in form of showers, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

Temperatures

Temperatures will suffer few changes or a slight decrease and thermometers will range between a maximum of 26 degrees in Tenerife and a minimum of 18 degrees on the island of El Hierro.
The wind will blow from the light northwest that will turn northeast throughout the day. Something more intense in the medians and east and west slopes. Breezes on southern and southwest coasts.

Regarding the province of Las Palmas, in Gran Canaria there will be generally cloudy skies, we will find occasional weak rainfall that may be locally moderate, especially in the afternoon in inland areas and in the south, where they could be in the form of a shower.

As for Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, there will also be intervals of medium and high cloudiness, with some low cloudiness in the west during the first half of the day, which could leave some generally weak and occasional precipitation, according to Aemet.

Temperatures will be with few changes or with some slight decrease in the minimums in the southern half.

In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria it will be between 26ºC maximum and 20ºC minimum. As for the wind, it will be from the weak northwest, which will turn northeast throughout the day. Something more intense in the medians and east and west slopes. Breezes on southern coasts.
