SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct 21 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Governing Council of the Canary Islands has approved this Thursday a loan of 1.7 million euros to reform the Nicolás Quesada park, located in the municipality of Mogán.
In this action, the Ministry of Tourism collaborates with the Gran Canaria City Council to adapt this space to the current needs of users and also achieve a tourist experience differentiated from the rest thanks to the integration of residents with visitors.
In addition, the improvement of these facilities is part of the Canary Islands Government’s strategy, which considers that the maintenance and sustainability of the islands’ tourist competitiveness in the international market requires a constant process of renovation and modernization of tourist infrastructures, prioritizing the creation of efficient, accessible, aesthetic spaces in line with the environment.
The objective of the reform of the Nicolás Quesada park is focused not only on improving the quality of life of the residents, but also on increasing the quality of the Canary Islands destination by achieving a tourist experience differentiated from the rest thanks to the integration of the neighbors with the visitors.
This intervention seeks to adapt the park to the current needs of users, for which a series of levels will be generated that will integrate the different equipment and possibilities of use.
In the first place, cultural venues will be incorporated and the main access from Avenida de la Constitución will be adapted.
The second intervention will consist of the main platform of the park, the stage, the skatepark, the Casa Hermenegildo and the connection with Rincón de Mima.
Finally, the works will be completed with the children’s play area, the Tahona club, the picnic area-viewpoint and the accesses to El Drago street.
At all these levels, the treatment of the vegetation and the routes will be taken care of, as well as the materials used and the equipment provided to enable the areas according to the different activities.
Thanks to this work, the park will acquire a triple endowment, social and cultural use, thus producing a substantial improvement of the environment and increasing the quality of the municipality’s tourist offer.
