SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo of Tenerife will undertake improvement works on the Southern Highway (TF-1) in the corresponding section between Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Santiago del Teide for an amount of 360,000 euros.
The work will consist of the rehabilitation of the road surface of the sections between kilometer points 6+000 to 14+550, right carriageway (South direction) and from 14+700 to 10+550 on the left carriageway (Santa Cruz direction). ), in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, El Rosario and Candelaria.
The Minister of Highways, Dámaso Arteaga explains in some works that the works will begin next Sunday with a foreseeable duration of six days.
To reduce the impact on circulation, all work will be carried out at night, between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
“The rehabilitation work will correct the enormous deficiencies, degradation and deterioration that this road currently presents, on which more than 91,000 vehicles circulate a day, of which 4,006 vehicles are heavy according to data from the Technical Gauge Unit of the Cabildo de Tenerife, culminating in a considerable improvement of said road, both in its functionality, user comfort, road safety and capacity,” says Arteaga.
Traffic cuts and diversions will be carried out by cutting the right and center lanes, providing the necessary marking and signaling, both code and informational, supported by signalmen at the interchanges, allowing traffic in the left lane at all times.
Thus, from Sunday to Tuesday, the rehabilitation of the firm right lane, right carriageway (Southbound), will begin between kilometer points 11+050 to 14+550.
In addition, right and center lane cuts will be made and the Barranco Hondo links will be affected on the first day (Sunday) and Caletillas on the last day (Tuesday), in the south direction.
The bus service, heading south, will be interrupted on both links – on Sunday in Barranco Hondo and Tuesday, October 24 in Las Caletillas -.
On the other hand, on Wednesday road surface rehabilitation works will be carried out in the right lane, left lane (Santa Cruz de Tenerife direction), between kilometer points 14+700 to 13+800.
CUTTING LANES
Likewise, the right and center lane will be cut, which will affect the links between Punta Larga and Las Caletillas towards Santa Cruz. In addition, the bus service, towards Santa Cruz, will be interrupted on both links.
On Thursday, the road surface rehabilitation work will begin in the right lane, left lane (direction Santa Cruz de Tenerife), between kilometer points 11+600 to 10+550.
The cuts will be made in the right and center lane and the Barranco Hondo and Tabaiba links, in the direction of Santa Cruz, will be affected. The bus service, towards Santa Cruz, will also be interrupted on both links.
On Sunday, the rehabilitation of the firm braided lane and right lane, right carriageway (Southbound), will begin between kilometer points 5+875 to 6+500 with cuts to the right and central lane and the Añaza and Radazul links will be affected. -El Chorrillo, in the south direction.
The bus service, in the south direction, will be interrupted on both links.
