Temporary activation

The selected applicants, once they have completed the basic and specific military training periods, sign an initial three-year commitment, and acquire the status of Volunteer Reservist with the employment of ensign/lieutenant of a frigate, sergeant, or soldier/sailor. depending on the qualification required for the position.
During said initial commitment, the volunteer reservist may be activated for limited periods of time, to serve in Units, Centers or Organizations of the Ministry of Defense or to participate in continuing training programs. They may sign new commitments for periods of three years, provided that the maximum age of 61 years for officers and non-commissioned officers, and 58 years for troops and sailors, is not exceeded.
