SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo of Tenerife, through the Social Action area, will allocate 768,000 euros to a line of subsidies for third sector organizations to carry out projects for supervised emancipation apartments for young people of legal age.

The Minister of Social Action and president of the IASS (Institute of Socio-Health Care), Águeda Fumero, explained that they promote this line of subsidy with the aim of responding efficiently to the personal needs of each of the users.

The supervised emancipation apartments are temporary accommodation resources, aimed at the care of young people between the ages of 18 and 21, who are formerly supervised or formerly sheltered in protection centers managed by the IASS, with the aim of bringing carry out a process of training autonomy, through the development of skills that will favor their situation of future emancipation.

This is a service that is the exclusive responsibility of the Government of the Canary Islands, but as Fumero explains, “the Cabildo has a commitment to young people who have been supervised or welcomed by the insular institution, which is why we support third-party entities. sector that perform the service, with the aim of guaranteeing success in the transition to adult life of the users”.

A total of six supervised apartments, with a maximum of six places each, will benefit from this subsidy for a period of 12 months. The general objectives of this project focus on guaranteeing coverage of the basic needs of users, promoting social and labor insertion, promoting the development of autonomy and facilitating cultural promotion.

Entities that wish to formalize their application for this subsidy can do so within 15 business days from today (Friday the 13th) at the IASS General Registry (Ground Floor of the IASS headquarters, at Calle Galcerán, 10, Santa Cruz de Tenerife), in the Citizen Services Center of the Cabildo de Tenerife and in its decentralized offices. All documentation is also available on the IASS website, http://www.iass.es/.
