VALVERDE (EL HIERRO), Oct. 12 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Two cayucos arrived this Thursday at the port of La Restinga, in El Hierro, with a total of 350 migrants of sub-Saharan origin on board, sources from 112 Canarias inform Europa Press.
The first, with 248 people, was sighted at 1:30 a.m. by a Maritime Rescue vessel that accompanied it to the dock where 176 adults, 27 women, 36 presumed minors and nine babies were treated.
Four people were treated with minor pathologies at the pier by the health services.
The second canoe made landfall around 9:30 a.m. after being accompanied to port by a Maritime Rescue vessel and with 102 migrants on board, of which 71 are men, 16 women, 12 boys and two girls and a baby.
A woman and two minors were referred to health centers for medical evaluation.
From 112 Canarias they also report that a boat with 55 migrants on board has arrived at the Arguineguín dock (Gran Canaria) after being escorted by Salvamento Marítimo and there is another active rescue in Lanzarote by a boat that will arrive at the island around 1:00 p.m.
