SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 11 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, recognized this Wednesday the potential of the gaming industry and the role it will play in the economic diversification of the archipelago during the inauguration of the trade mission organized by Proexca.

The president explained to around twenty video game producers from Japan, Canada and several European countries the advantages of settling on the islands and thus positioning the ‘Canary Islands Games’ brand.

The main Japanese production companies, including Xbox, Square Enix and Zynga, are among the group of studios that will participate in various activities scheduled from October 11 to 15 so that they can get to know the Canary Islands video game industry up close. a note from the Executive.

In addition to learning first-hand about the business ecosystem, talent and the main tax advantages for settling on the islands, the companies participating in this trade mission will visit local studios, such as Drakhar Studio, Foxter Studio and The Game Kitchen, located in Tenerife.

The visiting production companies will take the opportunity to attend the ‘Canarias Game Show’ on Friday in Tenerife and on Saturday in Gran Canaria, where they will continue to learn about some of the projects carried out on the islands and hold networking meetings with other local companies.

This commercial mission has been carried out within the framework of Proexca’s participation in the last edition of the ‘Tokyo Game Show’, the most important video game development fair in Japan, in which the Canarian entity participated with an agenda of exhibitions on the benefits of settling in the Canary Islands and ‘b2b’ meetings with video game development studios.
