The spokesperson for the municipal group of the PSOE, Badel Albelo, announced yesterday, during the ordinary session of the plenary session of La Laguna, that the local government (PSOE) has just “commissioned a study with the Chair of Sustainable Territories, Socioeconomic Development and Tourism of the University of La Laguna to study the evolution of housing prices and rents in the municipality, and we are waiting for the results.”

Likewise, he invited all political groups to, “once we are aware of the results, take measures that allow us from the City Council, not only to take the data into consideration, but to make a motion to urge the Government of the Canary Islands to declare or not the stressed areas” in terms of housing.

This was stated by Badel in the framework of a motion presented by Drago Verdes Canarias for the Government Board to declare the municipality of La Laguna a stressed residential market area, and which was rejected with the PSOE, PP, CC and Vox voting against , and only the support of Unidas se puede and Drago Verdes.

An ordinary session of the plenary session that began with the inauguration of Moisés Domínguez as councilor of the PP, replacing Ana Zurita. Among the agreements unanimously approved by the plenary session, becoming institutional, was a CC motion to urge the Government of the Canary Islands to recover the budget item destined for the reconstruction of the IES Padre Anchieta in the regional accounts for next year.

Another of the motions agreed upon as institutional was one by CC to improve the quality of life and safety of the non-evicted residents of Las Chumberas, where they reported that there are numerous complaints about the poor provision of public services, as well as occupied homes in blocks evicted, disturbing coexistence.

Specifically, it was approved to promote action between the Local Police and the CNP for correct surveillance and action in the area in order to resolve the problems of insecurity, occupation of buildings at risk of collapse and guarantee coexistence. The frequency of cleaning the evacuated areas will also continue and increase and the necessary measures will be taken to ensure that the evacuated buildings cannot be accessed.

One of the tense moments of the plenary session would come with the debate of the motion presented by CC, Unidas se puede and Drago Verdes to urge the Local Government Board to review its agreement of August 25 by which it specifically modified the list of positions of the City Council, and promote negotiation with the union representation, which has been demonstrating against it for months, and which went ahead with the vote of the three proposing parties and the abstention of PSOE, PP and Vox.

From the local government they argued that the plenary session does not have powers regarding negotiation regarding personnel and defended their “will to negotiate at all times”, which generated some response from the public present, where there were representatives of the workers, therefore that the mayor, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, had to call for order.

Likewise, in the emergency section, a budget modification of 1.1 million was also approved to comply with a ruling on land expropriation, as well as the II Children’s Plan and also an institutional motion to initiate the file. of honors and distinctions to Gonzalo Díaz, promoter and promoter of the Sala Conca.

The singer Ana Guerra will be at the Christmas lights lighting

The plenary session approved a modification of 650,000 euros for events next Christmas. The PP spokesperson, Juan Antonio Molina, outlined some of the items, such as 51,000 euros for the participation of the singer Ana Guerra in the lights-on event, at the end of November; 36,000 euros for a new Santa Claus Parade, on December 19, or 148,000 euros for the New Year’s Eve party, with Tony Tun Tun, Pepe Benavente and the Wamampy and Dorada Band orchestras.
