The counselor has pointed out that we are experiencing “completely unusual weather at this time of year, which forces us to take extreme precautions.” For this reason, the planned operation has been reinforced with the arrival to the island of two GES Tierra technicians, the head of Civil Protection and Emergencies of the Canary Islands, Montse Román; 40 portable communications equipment for people on the ground; three fixed communications bases for the Advanced Command Post; and a portable communications array.
In addition, the GES (Emergency and Rescue Group) helicopter is mobilized at its base at the Cristóbal Colón barracks, and the mobile unit of the General Directorate of Telecommunications has been installed, to guarantee coverage during the Descent of the Virgin events. .
On the other hand, a system has been launched to automatically receive incidents from CECOES directly to the Advanced Command Post for the immediate management of the necessary resources.
