SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 7 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The work against the forest fire in the north of the island of Tenerife took place last night calmly as there were no major reactivations.

In this sense, at 08:00 this Saturday there was a reactivation in the Las Banderolas area (Pino Alto) that was quickly stabilized.

This is reflected in the latest update of the situation carried out by the Cabildo until 10:00 a.m., which adds that the fight against the fire will continue this day with a device made up of 90 ground troops and 8 helicopters; while the affected area is about 40 hectares.

For today, temperatures above 30 degrees and some gusts of wind are expected, so residents of the areas where the extinguishing media are working are asked to avoid unnecessary movements with the fire as much as possible. so that firefighting and emergency vehicles can use the roads

FIRE PROHIBITION

On the other hand, the Tenerife Cabildo has recalled that since Tuesday, October 3, it has activated grade 1 measures for the prevention of forest fires due to the alert declaration decreed by the Government of the Canary Islands.

In this way, it has been prohibited to make fires outdoors, whether barbecues, bonfires, stoves, gas stoves; as well as the use of any pyrotechnic material in risk areas; and the use of any type of machinery or tool that can project sparks (brush cutters, welding equipment or cutting radials) was suspended.
