SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The acting Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Héctor Gómez, appealed this Friday to “discretion” in the negotiation process to articulate the investiture of Pedro Sánchez as President of the Government and has made it clear that we must be “prudent” and it cannot be “televised”.

In an interview given to ‘Televisión Canaria’ and collected by Europa Press, he admitted that there are open contacts with many parliamentary groups and therefore, when there is “something concrete”, it will be communicated to public opinion.

“It is very important to measure times and not anticipate events,” he indicated, stressing that all steps taken must be “in moderation”, while recalling all the measures promoted by the PSOE and the Government to “facilitate coexistence in Catalonia”.

Along these lines, he has pointed out that there are “many issues” to address and not only with Catalan territorial formations, such as ERC and Junts, hence the “complexity” of the process, although he has recognized that the PSOE already demonstrated its capacity in the last Legislature. to “reach investiture agreements.”

The minister has pointed out that there is no need to anticipate a possible amnesty because “there is no initiative drawn up to make citizens aware of it” so he does not understand that the negotiation should be directed “solely and exclusively” to an aspect that “does not is not drafted or agreed upon.

In that sense, he has highlighted that the PSOE “is going to move within the framework of the Constitution” and some alternatives such as a consultation or a referendum do not fit there. “It is clear, we are not going to establish debates without further ado,” he said, emphasizing that the door will not be opened to issues that “could hinder the steps” that have been taken to achieve coexistence in Catalonia.

Gómez has insisted that all parliamentary groups are important to achieve a “solid majority” of the legislature, not just the investiture, and in this sense he has demanded other agreements outside the ‘Catalan question’ such as the increase in the SMI or the shoring up of services and citizens’ rights.
