Six cayucos arrive in the Canary Islands with 518 people, including 26 minors this Friday

All migrants are of sub-Saharan origin and in total swith 484 men, eight women and 26 minors, according to data provided by Salvamento Marítimo, which attended to the six vessels while they approached the Canary Islands coasts.

To the port of La Restinga, in The iron three cayucos arrived, the first of them at dawn with 103 people of sub-Saharan originof which 93 men, seven women and three minors.

That vessel was located by the SIVE coastal surveillance system radar nine kilometers from land and the Salvamar Adhara set sail to accompany it to the dock.

Already in the morning, the radar detected another vessel twelve kilometers from La Restinga, which was towed by the Salvamar Adhara to the port, where At 8:20 a.m., 112 men of sub-Saharan origin were disembarked.

Shortly afterwards, at 9:05 a.m., the Salvamar Adhara escorted another cayuco with 62 men of sub-Saharan origin.

Two other canoes have arrived at the port of Los Cristianos, south of Tenerife, in the last few hours, the first shortly before midnight with 82 sub-Saharan men17 of them minors.

Another vessel was located by the SIVE radar fifteen kilometers south of Punta de Rasca and the Salvamar Alpheratz set out to meet it, escorting it to the port of Los Cristianos. 85 people were traveling, of them 78 men, one woman and six minors.
