SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 3 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Aena has appointed Sara Povedano Camacho, an aeronautical engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, as the new director of La Gomera Airport, a position she will assume as of November 16.

Since 2018, Sara Povedano has been responsible for the Operational Safety Management System at César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport. Previously, since 2014, she held different functions in the Operations, Security and Services Directorate of Aena through the company Ineco.

In the last period, it has contributed significantly to the maintenance of the aerodrome certificate issued by the State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA), to the achievement of the highest operational safety standards at the airport and to obtaining excellent results in the various inspections. and audits carried out by regulatory bodies.

Javier Franco Serrano, current director of La Gomera Airport, is taking voluntary retirement after developing an extensive professional career at Aena, where he joined in 1991. During his career he has held different positions of responsibility, among which the management of the airport stands out. Gomero airport for the last ten years and the addresses of the airports of Logroño (2009-2013) and La Palma (2001-2009).

During his last stage at La Gomera Airport, he has contributed to satisfying the demand of passengers and airlines with high levels of perceived quality and to consolidating the significant increase in activity in recent years, being aware, together with his team, of the importance of these facilities for the connectivity and communication of the island. Aena appreciates his professionalism, commitment and dedication during these years.
