SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, September 28 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Department of Universities, Science and Innovation of the Government of the Canary Islands has opened a call for subsidies for the hiring of predoctoral research personnel who are carrying out an official doctoral program. The announcement has been published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) on September 25 and the deadline to submit applications will be open until 2:00 p.m. on October 17.
The text contemplates the financing of up to 80 contracts that will be granted on a competitive basis, with a total credit of 7.9 million euros distributed in four annual installments until 2027, 85% co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus. In this way, each aid will have a subsidy to cover salary costs of 22,728 euros for the first two years of the contract, 24,434 for the third and 29,673 for the fourth.
Applications must be submitted to the Electronic Headquarters of the Government of the Canary Islands but, in order to be able to institutionally validate all applications, the University of La Laguna has urged all people in a doctoral program at the academic institution who wish to apply to this call, to contact their Research Management Service before October 10, through the email [email protected].
Participants must be enrolled in an official doctoral program at a public university and other research centers recognized in the call, and have an academic record with a minimum average grade for each degree level of the studies that give them access to their doctoral program equal to or greater than 6.5 points, half a point less if the thesis focuses on research on equality between women and men.
The call also stipulates that, following the guidelines of the European Commission, at least 60% of the aid will be granted to projects that prioritize the green and digital economy, and the remainder will be distributed among theses from the five major branches of knowledge: Sciences , Health Sciences, Social and Legal Sciences, Arts and Humanities and Engineering and Architecture.
