SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, September 27 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo of Tenerife has put on public display the project for the creation of a direct lane that, starting from the TF-642 towards Santa Cruz, links directly with the TF-64 road towards El Médano, avoiding passage through the San Isidro roundabout.
The Minister of Mobility, Eulalia García, explains in a note that this lane will “notably” alleviate traffic in an area where a high density of vehicles converge.
In this sense, García recalled that the roundabout distributes traffic towards the tourist center of El Médano and towards San Isidro, which is why an intervention is necessary to improve mobility conditions in the area.
The project, which will remain on public display for a total of 20 business days, has a budget of 1.4 million euros, and includes the construction of a direct lane to the road that descends to the Médano to avoid traffic congestion.
These types of projects that include direct lanes in areas where a large number of vehicles converge involve strategic actions in improving mobility, the Cabildo highlights.
In this sense, this project is joined by the recent public exhibition of the document that contemplates the creation of direct lanes in the Güímar industrial estate with the execution of a new exit branch of the South Highway – heading towards Santa Cruz– from the Puertito de Güímar junction that will connect with the Camino del Socorro, on the edge of Monta Grande.
