SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, September 26 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration plans to build a First Arrivals Center (CPLL) in Echedo to serve migrants arriving on the island of El Hierro.
The center is part of the commitments made in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) to strengthen the capacity of the reception system to add 6,100 publicly owned places throughout the territory.
The Spanish Government carries out comprehensive and flexible management of all reception resources for migrants arriving in Spain. To support this management, investments are being made throughout the territory, with PRTR funds that, in the case of the Canary Islands, will amount to more than 100 million euros.
The CPLL of Echedo will have a capacity for 250 people and will contribute to managing the migratory phenomenon thanks to the collaboration of the different administrations such as the Secretary of State for Migration, the Cabildo of El Hierro and the City Council of Valverde.
