The City Council of La Laguna, through the Department of Citizen Security, currently has a free service for the removal of disused or abandoned vehicles that citizens can access by processing the request by calling 922 601 217 or at email [email protected].
The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, has highlighted the importance of this tool, which many citizens are still unaware of, with which the City Council takes charge of the removal of the vehicle and the processing of the corresponding deregistration at no cost. for the population.
“One of the fundamental purposes that we pursue from the local Corporation is to avoid the illegal abandonment of cars in the municipality, especially in ravines or natural areas where any damage to the environment can occur,” he added.
For her part, the Councilor for Citizen Security, Cristina Ledesma, explained that, once the request is received from any person who uses this service, the request is processed for a crane to proceed with its removal. There is also the possibility that any neighbor who locates an abandoned vehicle alerts the City Council for its immediate removal.
“The only information that the owner must provide during this entire procedure is the supporting documentation of the car, including its technical data sheet,” explained Ledesma, who stressed that once the vehicle is removed from the road, “it will no longer you can claim or request its recovery.”
This same week, a traveling awareness campaign has been launched by the Department of the Environment to remember the negative effects on the environment that the illegal abandonment of vehicles and belongings can entail, which will travel through different parts of the municipality over the next few months. .
