SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, September 12 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo of Tenerife and the Chamber of Commerce, Navigation and Industry of Santa Cruz de Tenerife are going to reinforce employment and training programs aimed at young people and those over 45 years of age.
The Minister of Employment and Education, Efraín Medina, and the general director of the Chamber of Commerce, Lola Pérez, held a meeting this Tuesday to coordinate the actions to be developed in the short, medium and long term.
During the meeting, the situation of the Comprehensive Qualification and Employment Program (PICE) was addressed and the need to continue working with the youth group, improving the labor and vocational orientation of the participants and the acquisition of skills for correct labor insertion, stated a note from the insular corporation.
Likewise, Medina and Pérez agreed on the need to continue promoting the Youth Guarantee program, a European initiative aimed at people between 16 and 30 years old that is focused on ensuring that all young people not employed or integrated into education or training, may receive an offer of employment, education or training, including apprenticeship or traineeship, after completing formal education or becoming unemployed.
In addition, the need to continue supporting Dual Vocational Training (Dual Vocational Training) and implement it throughout the island by promoting and advising the business community on the benefits that this modality brings was also stressed.
Another aspect that the Council and the Chamber of Commerce will reinforce are the programs for people over 45 years of age, with actions designed with a training itinerary with digital skills adapted to the profile of each person and monitoring for insertion into the labor market.
The objective is that those groups that have the greatest difficulties entering the labor market have the appropriate qualifications and tools to perform the jobs that companies demand, the Cabildo points out.
