The Amarilla Golf coastal promenade will continue through Ensenada de la Rueda

The project to carry out the third phase of the continuation of the San Miguel de Abona coastal promenade is in public information. The work has a budget of 1,316,789 euros and involves continuing with the Amarulla Golf promenade in the Ensenada de la Rueda section. Specifically, the work will consist of developing two promenades, as well as a plaza with a kiosk and a children’s playground. The execution period of the works will be 11 months.

Included in the San Miguel de Abona Modernization, Improvement and Increased Competitiveness Plan, the works contemplated in this project affect a winding dirt path that is located in the vicinity of the coastline. The action will cover around 380 linear meters of the coastline passing through the Amarilla Golf urbanization.

The project, promoted by the San Miguel de Abona City Council and supported by the Department of Tourism, Foreign Affairs and Institutional Relations of the Cabildo de Tenerife, aims to “provide the Paseo de Ensenada de La Rueda with large green areas and restore those that are currently degraded, with rubble and invasive flora.” Likewise, it will develop the “improvement of the vegetation from the landscape point of view and minimum affectation to the existing healthy flora”, among other issues.

In the same project that is in the public information period, it is stated that this intervention is based on the “great potential” that this enclave has “so that a coastal action capable of solving current problems and respecting and adding to its potential is an effective and highly attractive response in the future.

For the coast of San Miguel de Abona, the Consistory announced a global investment of 4,103,000 euros to carry out five projects that will optimize the state of the coast. These are actions such as San Salvador beach, the Golf del Sur and Amarilla Golf promenade and Charco de Archiles. The objective is to improve the conditions of the San Miguel coast in view of the growing development of the area and in response to the fact that it is the fourth municipality on the Island in number of tourist beds. The Mayor’s Office explains that the works will benefit not only tourists, but, “and especially,” residents.

The pending issue in this municipality is the construction of the San Blas beach, a project that has been bogged down for decades but has not been forgotten. The mayor, Arthur Gonzalezhe is clear about it: «We cannot continue with 5,000 tourist beds and four kilometers of coastline and not having a beach if we want to continue being a municipality in the South with the possibility of maintaining the employment», he defended already in 2021.
