SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 7 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The deputy of the Canary Coalition (CC) in Congress, Cristina Valido, demanded this Thursday to know when the Government of Spain will transfer the items it has pending with the islands and which amounts to about 131 million euros.

“The Government cannot look the other way because that money was established in the General State Budgets of this year, through amendments that our political party presented to the accounts and that were accepted by the Executive, which meant our vote in favor so that they could move forward,” Valido recalled.

For the nationalist deputy, “The Canary Islands cannot continue waiting any longer to receive the money that corresponds to them because that is how it was agreed and signed.”

These items pending transfer, the nationalists detail in a note, include aid to the island of La Palma, to the transport of goods, to universities or research, among others.

In order to obtain a clear answer and so that the money reaches the Canary Islands as soon as possible, Valido has presented a battery of up to 16 written questions to the corresponding ministries of the different items in which he claims to know the date on which the Government your payment will be made effective.

Thus, it has addressed the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda to claim the 20 million allocated to the transportation of Canary Islands bananas; to the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training for the 4 million that remain untransferred to finance educational infrastructure and scholarships, as well as to compensate for the extra cost of remoteness; to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism for the 500,000 euros pending from the Agreement for the Internationalization of the Canary Islands economy; to the Ministry of Ecological Transition for the million destined to subsidize waste transportation between islands; to the Health Department for the million and a half of the specific agreement with the Canary Islands Autonomous Community for the reinforcement of mental health care on the island of La Palma derived from the volcanic crisis and for the 250,000 euros destined for the Institute of Tropical Diseases and Public Health of the Canary Islands that will be allocated to Research, development and innovation in the fields of tropical diseases and public health.

It also claims another three million for research, cooperation and training at the Canary Islands universities and another 500,000 euros for investments in the Institute of Natural Products.
