He Santa Cruz City Councilthrough the Public Services area directed by Carlos Tarife, is working on the resurfacing of the access lane to the Weyler Square from Méndez Núñez Street. Works that consist of replacing the porphyry cobble pavement with a layer of AC16 type asphalt pavement, as well as the replacement of traffic light channels and water pipes that had significant breaks. The work has a budget of 59,590.44 euros and is scheduled to be completed at the end of next week.

The mayor of the city, José Manuel Bermúdez, points out that “this execution is based on the line of improving and transforming the city, especially on those roads that support a greater density of traffic, as is this case” and adds that “ With this work and those carried out at the fountain of this aforementioned central space in the capital, it will be possible to have a renewed space, which will undoubtedly serve as an attraction for both residents, visitors and tourists.”

For his part, the councilor for Public Services of the capital, Carlos Tarife, points out that “it was necessary to improve this area of the capital, whose pavement presented significant deterioration, with the presence of soft spots and holes caused by the continuous passage of vehicles.” and remembers that “once the rehabilitation and cleaning work of the Plaza’s sculpture complex, which began last June, is completed, this part of the city will be in the best conditions for the enjoyment of the residents, as well as the visitors who come to Santa Cruz.”

Furthermore, Tarife recalls that “since the mandate began just 80 days ago, the Public Services area has not stopped working to improve the streets of Santa Cruz. Works that we will continue to undertake and in which, for the moment, we have invested more than five and a half million euros.”

Yesterday, the City Council presented a report on the works carried out since the beginning of this legislature, which are underway or in the bidding process, for which there is an investment of 39 million euros, and announced that work is being done on drafting another 20 technical projects, which will mean having another 35 million euros of investment. Projects that include priority actions and commitments in different districts, neighborhoods and towns of the Tenerife capital.

It should be remembered that during the time that these resurfacing works last in the area around Plaza Weyler, line 904 of Titsa will suffer the following detour: the stop 9229 Plaza Weyler will be cancelled, being replaced by 9230 Plaza de los Patos, as an alternative. for this line.
