A flight delay ends in a wedding

The fear of many when traveling is flight delay. As of now there are two people for whom it doesn’t. It is the case of Lisa Skellon and Jamie Hobbsboth 56 years old, who lived a story worthy of a Sunday romantic movie on Antena 3.

Both They were traveling separately from Bournemouth to Tenerife. Like all other passengers, they had to disembark the plane and return to the terminal.

The two groups of friends they were traveling with mingled in the airport terminal, and Lisa and Jamie connected immediately. Lisa described her initial meeting in November 2019, saying: “We sit and have our drinks, and we don’t stop looking at each other“.

The couple in Tenerife

Their connection continued to grow as they boarded the plane again. Jamie strategically timed her visit to the bathroom to coincide with Lisa’s seating location, allowing them to chat more. Jamie shared: “I later worked up the courage to give Lisa my business card, but her friend shouted: ‘She’s written her number on a Tui bag.’ I still have a photo of it now“.

Their story played out like a romantic movie, with the couple seeing each other every night during their trip to Tenerife. Their relationship continued when they returned home to Ferndown, Dorset.

Wedding in Cyprus

Lisa expressed her gratitude for the flight delay, saying: “We’re so grateful for the delay, for once in our lives, because we probably wouldn’t have met if it hadn’t been for that.“.

They will get married in a month in Cyprus

Their love story will culminate in marriage next month in Paphos, Cyprus, as reported by the British newspaper The Sun.

Tui UKthe airline involved, commented on their story, stating: “No one likes flight delays, but this one was clearly meant to happen. We wish them a lifetime of happiness together.”
