This Saturday a new Day Center for the Promotion of Autonomy was inaugurated

The president of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, highlighted this Saturday the commitment of the ALDIS Foundation to continue working for the inclusion of people with functional diversity.
This was stated during the opening ceremony of the new Day Center for the Promotion of Autonomy, located in the Ofra neighborhood, where he added that “until now we did not have facilities of this type in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.” .
“Facilities,” he continued, “that are adapted to the abilities and potential of young people with functional diversity.”
This inauguration of the ALDIS day center was also attended by the Minister of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Children and Families, Candelaria Delgado; the Common Deputy, Rafael Yanes; and the national representative for the province of Tenerife, Cristina Valido.
Clavijo pointed out that “this new day center opens as a Vocational Training Institute-center adapted to the abilities and potential of our boys and girls with functional diversity.”
“And with its opening, another chapter is written in the commitment and work demonstrated by the Canarian ALDIS Foundation,” he explained about new facilities in which participants will be able to access training according to their abilities, such as specialty courses and certified workshops. approved by ESSCAN, Radio ECCA and the Public Employment Service (SEPE).
For his part, he pointed out that young people will begin participating in activities associated with cooking workshops, hairdressing work and computer tools, but also in horse training, laundry, supermarket and other activities that will be very beneficial for them.
This day center will also offer speech therapy, pedagogy, early care, sensory stimulation, social care and an autonomous leisure program.
PIONEER CENTER
For her part, the Canary Islands Minister of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Children and Families, Candelaria Delgado, underlined the relevance of the “pioneer” center that has just been inaugurated in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and in which a Vocational Training adapted for young people of this group over 16 years of age.
The center currently has capacity for 12 people, although there are plans to expand the number of places to up to 20.
“It is an honor to have the opportunity to accompany people and entities that strive every day to make the lives of people with functional diversity better, but also to improve us all as a society. Those who strive to make us better deserve our full support. They will always find support in the Administration,” said the counselor.
