Since this Friday, the Cabildo of Tenerife has limited the circulation of waste trucks that travel on the TF-5 and, from this Monday, it will also do so with the TF-1, with the aim of solving traffic on the island.
The Cabildo details that 60 trips a week will be eliminated, during the time slot between 5:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., to alleviate road traffic starting at seven in the morning, when the level of congestion is higher. accused.
In the case of TF-5 transport, the usual route is from the transfer plant located in the municipality of La Orotava to the Tenerife Environmental Complex, in Arico.
Meanwhile, on the southern highway, trucks cover the route between the municipality of Arona and the aforementioned complex.
The Minister of Mobility of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Eulalia García, has assured that this restriction on the circulation of trucks will not affect or entail any reduction in the service provided to the town councils and residents.
“The Cabildo is leading the process in which short, medium and long-term measures will be implemented to solve traffic problems. “It is a collective challenge that concerns the entire society and in which a roadmap has been established with the different economic and social agents involved,” he added.
The regulation of waste truck schedules has been coordinated with the Minister of the Natural Environment, Blanca Pérez, and the insular director of Waste, Alejandro Molowny.
