The Cabildo of Tenerife continues to work with a contingent of 114 people on the ground to consider the forest fire that has affected the island since August 15 under control, in addition to four helicopters – two from the Cabildo and two from the Government of Spain. –, as well as the staff who work in coordination and logistics.
The work is concentrating on solving the reproductions that have appeared in the area of La Orotava and Acentejo, mainly, although work continues in the entire affected area, which has an area of around 14,700 hectares and a perimeter of 90 kilometers.
The Cabildo recalls in a note that the fire has not affected any homes and that once it is considered controlled, the damaged infrastructure will be definitively evaluated, such as some tool rooms or facilities located in the mountains.
The Cabildo has activated the Territorial Insular Emergency Plan (PEIN) and therefore, in the municipalities of Güímar, Arafo, Fasnia, Candelaria, El Rosario, Tacoronte, El Sauzal, La Matanza de Acentejo, La Victoria de Acentejo, Santa Úrsula , La Orotava and Los Realejos, grade 3 measures remain activated, which means the prohibition of lighting fires in recreational areas and traveling on forest tracks and trails.
FIRE PROHIBITION
The prohibition of staying in the mountains and making fires outdoors (bonfires, stoves, barbecues, gas stoves) is also maintained; pyrotechnic displays and the use of machinery and tools that cause sparks. In addition, motor vehicles may not be driven on forest trails for recreational purposes.
Hunting activity is prohibited in the municipalities affected by the fire, except in Güímar and Fasnia.
On the other hand, the following recreational areas and camping areas will remain closed: Chanajiga (Los Realejos), Hoya del Abade (La Victoria), La Caldera (La Orotava), La Laguneta Chica (Santa Úrsula), Las Calderetas (El Sauzal) , Las Raíces (El Rosario), Lomo La Jara (Tacoronte), Los Frailes (Arafo) and Ramón El Caminero (La Orotava).
The Cabildo has also activated grade 1 measures in the municipalities not affected by the forest fire. Thus, lighting fires in recreational areas (bonfires, stoves, barbecues, gas stoves), pyrotechnic displays and work with machinery and tools that cause sparks remains prohibited.
In this case, hunting activity, forest harvesting and the circulation of motor vehicles are permitted on the network of forest trails for recreational purposes.
Likewise, you can travel on forest tracks and trails and use recreational areas, camping areas and campsites (without using stoves or gas), as well as sporting events and pilgrimages on forest and cross-country tracks and trails.
In any case, the population is asked to take extreme precautions throughout the island territory with any activity that could generate fires (tobacco, use of generating sets, electrical and pyrotechnic material).
BUS RESTRICTIONS
Regarding public transport, the only Titsa line that remains suspended is Line 348 Puerto de la Cruz-Orotava-Teide National Park. For its part, Lines 345 and 346 Puerto de la Cruz-Orotava-Aguamansa will only reach the Velo, while Line 342 Costa Adeje-Cristianos-Vilaflor-Parque Nacional del Teide will only reach the Cable Car.
In the case of the trails of the Teide National Park, Trail No. 1 La Fortaleza, Trail No. 2 Arenas Negras, Trail No. 8 El Filo, Trail No. 14 Alto de Guamaso, Trail No. 17 Igueque, Trail No. 20 Fasnia Volcano, Trail No. 21 Corral del Niño to La Yegua Blanca, Trail No. 25 Recibo Quemado, Trail No. 29 Degollada del Cedro, Trail No. 34 Montaña Limón, Trail No. 36 Alto de La Fortaleza and Trail No. 37 Cerrillar-Carnicería.
For its part, Trail No. 4 Siete Cañadas is partially closed from the beginning by the El Portillo Visitor Center until its contact with Trail No. 30 Los Valles (Risco de La Papelera), while Trail No. 22 Lomo Hurtado is partially closed. closed from the beginning in contact with trail nº1 La Fortaleza until its contact with trail nº33 Montaña Negra.
