The town of port of santiago prepares for the imminent celebration of his Small Party in Honor of Our Lady of Carmen 2023which will be celebrated from Friday, September 1 to Sunday, the 3rd of the aforementioned month, with various liturgical events and recreational activities for all ages in its programming.
Thus, this celebration will begin on Friday, September 1, at the Norberto Garcia Square, where from 06:00H. The shower of flights and flowered target will take place by the Santiago del Teide Fanfare, highlighting that, starting at 5:00 p.m., the Great Foam Festival will begin with entertainment, games and fun contests. Also, starting at 6:00 p.m. The little ones will be able to enjoy a play park with inflatable games to enjoy with the family and, starting at 7:00 p.m., the “Kantikomba” children’s festival will take place, in which adults and children will laugh, sing and dance to the tune of fun songs with live band.
Regarding Saturday, September 2, the Plaza de Puerto de Santiago will host, starting at 10:00 a.m., the opening of the chapel on the fishing dock to visit Our Lady of Carmen, which will remain open until 9 p.m. :00H., highlighting that, starting at 12:30H., the Puerto de Santiago 2023 Tapas and Canes Festival will take place, in which you can enjoy an albacore tapa and a beer – for the price of 1 euro- as well as the performances of Arturo Castillo, Maikel Jiménez and Nueva Ilusión.
It won’t be until 3:00 p.m. when the arrival takes place, at Playa Chica in Puerto de Santiago, of the participants of the South West Tenerife Barceló Crossing, although after 7:00 p.m. An offering will be made to the Virgin of Carmen by the CN Isora Swim Master. As for 9:00 p.m., attendees will be able to spend an evening in style with the “Latinazo, say goodbye to summer!”, which will feature musical performances by La Klave, Orquesta Gomeray, El Morocho and the Latin Brothers, as well as Maikel Jiménez.
If we attend to Sunday, September 3, at 10:00 a.m. The Salutes in Honor of the Virgin Girl and the opening of the chapel will take place, highlighting that, starting at 12:30, you can enjoy live music by Roberto. As for 1:30 p.m., it will be when the walkers of the La Cruz hiking group arrive to make the offering to our Virgin Girl in the Chapel.
In addition, it will be from 7:00 p.m. when the Holy Mass takes place at the Fishing Pier of Puerto de Santiago, officiated by our Parish Priest Don Omar Martín Vargas and sung by Parranderos de Tágara. Next, the procession will begin along the usual route to the Plaza de Puerto de Santiago, accompanied by the Tágara Parranderos and highlighting that, during the route, the artist Isabel González will sing to the virgin.
Finally, upon arrival at the square, an offering of food will be held in which the virgin will be received by a poem by Alicia León and the voice of Montse García, as well as by the Tágara Parranderos.
