SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Minister of Culture of the Cabildo de Tenerife, José Carlos Acha, presented this Tuesday the tenth edition of the MUSA Festival, which starts next September, organized by the Autonomous Organization of Museums and Centers at the Museum of Nature and Archeology (MUNA). .

The event was also attended by the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Cape Verde in the Canary Islands, Juan Cárdenes Martín, and the festival coordinator, Néstor Yanes.

This edition, which is held between September 1 and 30, is dedicated to Cape Verde, and will display an extensive program of activities adapted to all ages with the aim of bringing visitors closer to Cape Verdean culture, which is characterized by a mixture of European and African elements, sharing cultural patterns very similar to those of the rural areas of Portugal.

The festival will begin on September 1 with the celebration of five musical shows, which will take place every Friday in September starting at 9:00 p.m.

The first concert will be led by the Cape Verdean singer Elida Almeida and after her, every Friday, the festival will feature performances by artists such as Carlos G. Lopes, Djam Neguim, Luciény Kaabral and Nuno Barreto and Mário Lúcio.

On the other hand, every Thursday night in September a cycle of dine will be screened in the open air which, as in previous editions, has been organized thanks to the collaboration with the Filmoteca Canaria of the Government of the Canary Islands.

This cycle will start on September 7 with the projection, at 9:00 p.m., of ‘Cesária Évora’ and will also screen ‘Djon África, Tchindas, Viagem a Cabo Verde’, collects a note from the Cabildo.

This wide and varied program is completed with the development of six workshops designed for the whole family, where attendees can learn to make handicrafts from the African country, immerse themselves in Afrobeat and urban Creole dance, as well as work on their creativity and artistic expression to get to know Cape Verde beyond its beaches.

The program also includes various conferences and will conclude on September 30, when from 11:00 am, visitors will be able to participate in a genuine ‘escape room’ called ‘Captain Kidd’.
