He Aguamansa channelwhich supplies drinking water from Los Realejos to El Rosario, including areas of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Laguna, is back in operation after repair work. The channel became inoperative after registering a new detachment last morning.

The channel’s staff, accompanied by members of the Tenerife Fire Consortium and the supervision of the Insular Water Council, have worked since early hours to repair it, according to reports from the Cabildo de Tenerife, coordinator of the emergency since Monday, when the price was lowered. level 1 fire.

EFFECTIVE AGAINST THE FIRE

Today an operation of 135 people and four helicopters -two from the Cabildo and two from the State-, together with the coordination and logistics personnel who continue to work on the emergency.

The ground troops belong to the Forestry Brigades of the Councils of Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro, the Consortium of Firefighters of Tenerife and the companies Tragsa and Gesplan. This afternoon it is expected that two crews of volunteer firefighters will join.

The media are focusing their work on the area of La Matanza, Santa Úrsula, La Orotava and Güímarand their main objective is to consolidate the perimeter and put out any possible reactivation of the fire.

Work is being done on the hot and smoky spots of a fire that has affected some 14,700 hectares and has a perimeter of approximately 90 kilometers, with the aim of bringing it under control “as soon as possible,” the Cabildo said in a statement.

20 people from Santa Úrsula remain evicted

Meanwhile, some 20 people from Santa Úrsula continue to be evicted with a preventive nature and to facilitate the extinction work. The emergency department will evaluate tomorrow the possibility of their returning to their homes.

In addition, air quality continues to be monitored, which has had high particle values ​​in the upper area of ​​La Orotava during the night, although they dissipated with the arrival of daylight.
