SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 27 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The teams of the Military Emergency Unit (UME) have already been able to withdraw and return to their bases due to the positive evolution of the fire in Tenerife.

As reported by the Directorate of the Canary Islands Civil Protection and Emergency Attention Plan for Forest Fires (INFOCA), the fire continues in the stabilized phase, which means that it is evolving within the established control lines, according to forecasts and that the work of extinction are heading towards their control.

During the last night there have been some reactivations in La Esperanza, in the municipality of El Rosario, and in the area of the La Atalaya viewpoint, in Santa Úrsula.

In this sense, the preventive evacuation of a house in Las Rosas, in El Rosario, and six houses in the upper part of Vera del Barranco street in Santa Úrsula was carried out, since the only way out for the residents was toward the fire area.

The work of the extinction operation continues to be very hard along the 90 km perimeter, insisting on the consolidation of those most conflictive points, but they are progressing favorably.

A DEVICE 94 EFFECTIVES BY LAND AND 8 AIR MEANS

The device planned for today is made up of 94 ground troops from the forestry brigades of the Cabildo de Tenerife and the EIRIF and teams from urban firefighters and 8 aerial means that concentrate their operations between Santa Úrsula and La Matanza.

Since the start of the fire until yesterday, the air resources have made 7,277 discharges in different areas using a total of 13,103,700 liters of water.

The air quality today is unfavorable at the Chasna mobile station, in high altitudes of La Orotava, so the population is recommended to continue maintaining self-protection measures such as the use of FPP2 mask and avoid staying outside.

ACCESSES TO EL TEIDE NATIONAL PARK CLOSED

The accesses to the El Teide National Park by the TF-24 (La Esperanza), TF-21 (La Orotava) and the TF-523 (Subida a Los Loros), and all the accesses to the forest crown, as well as trails to prevent the population from taking risks. Access to the emergency area that exceeds 14,000 hectares is also prohibited.

Finally, the Technical Directorate of INFOCA recalls the need to maintain prudence and insists that in the municipalities affected by the fire it is not possible to access the mountain or carry out any type of activity in it, since a very serious intervention operation continues. important in the area, and it is necessary to keep the roads clear so that they can act quickly if necessary.
