The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has closed the Terrero Perico Perdomo on Friday afternoon, which has been enabled to accommodate eleven domestic animals and pets from the municipalities evacuated by the forest fire.
According to the City Council, During these days, the facilities, which were opened following a request from the Island Council of Tenerife, have welcomed a total of 4 dogs and 7 cats.
These are animals that have been cared for by the Sano ya Salvo Animal Association and by 113 volunteers who have provided their help from the outset.
The Councilor for Animal Welfare, Carlos Tarife, has been “satisfied with the attention that has been able to offer those people who have been most affected by the forest fire.”
He also recalled that “from the beginning, we offered our hand, to alleviate the uncertainty and pain of leaving your home behind and separating yourself from your pets with a fire of such magnitude.”
“We are grateful for the work of all the volunteers and residents of the Salud-La Salle district who, from the outset, have devoted themselves to helping these animals with care and donations, in a selfless and supportive way,” he said. .
