The ingredients of the Canary Islands for the meteorological stew

Canary Islands expect this Saturday medium and high clouds that will tend to dissipate throughout the afternoon, high haze and few changes in temperatures, which could reach 34 degrees again in Gran Canaria or 32 in Tenerife, according to the forecast of the Meteorology Statal Agency.

GRAND CANARY

Intervals of medium and high clouds during the morning tending to slightly cloudy the rest of the day except for intervals of low cloudiness on the north coast at night. Haze in height. Minimum temperatures with slight ascents on the coasts, few changes in the interior. The maximum with slight ascents in the southern and eastern slopes. The maximum temperatures will still reach 34ºC in the south and west facing areas. Moderate wind from the north component, intensifying at the end of the day when strong intervals are expected in the extreme west and east as well as in summits. Breezes on southern shores.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C): Palmas de Gran Canaria, 24 29

TENERIFE

Intervals of medium and high clouds during the morning with a low probability of weak and isolated rain, which will decrease to slightly cloudy in the afternoon. At night, intervals of low clouds in coastal areas to the north. Haze in height. Temperatures with some slight rise. 32 ºC may be reached in the south and west facing areas, as well as in the south of the metropolitan area. Moderate wind from the north component, intensifying at the end of the day when strong intervals are expected in the extreme west and southeast slope. In summits loose wind in general of variable direction except in high summits that will be moderate with predominance of the western component. Breezes off the southwest coast.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C): Santa Cruz de Tenerife 26 35

Intervals of medium and high clouds during the morning with a low probability of weak and isolated rain, tending to little cloudiness the rest of the day except on the north coast at night with intervals of low clouds. Haze in height. Slightly rising temperatures. It is not ruled out that locally the maximums still reach 32 – 34º C in areas of the southern interior. Moderate wind from the north component, intensifying at the end of the day when strong intervals are expected in the extreme east and west. In summits, light wind with a predominance of the north component, something more intense at the end of the day. Breezes on southern shores.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C): San Sebastián de la Gomera 27 35

Intervals of medium and high clouds during the morning with a low probability of weak and isolated rain, tending to little cloudiness the rest of the day except on the north and east coast at night with intervals of low clouds. Haze in height. Slightly rising temperatures without ruling out that they can reach 32º C locally in inland areas to the west. Light northeast wind somewhat more intense from noon, at night on the northwest and southeast slopes there may be some strong interval. Breezes off the southwest coast. In summits variable light wind tending to moderate from the north component at the end of the day.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C): Santa Cruz de la Palma 25 30

Intervals of medium and high clouds during the morning with a low probability of weak and isolated rain, tending to little cloudiness the rest of the day except on the north coast at night with intervals of low clouds. Haze in height. Slightly rising temperatures without ruling out that they can reach 32º C locally in inland areas to the west. Light wind of variable direction during the morning, which will turn to the northeast and at night on the northwest and southeast slopes there may be some strong interval. Breezes off the southwest coast.
