The City Council, through the Department of Municipal Services, makes an appeal to the public to raise awareness of the need for responsible water consumption and, thus, deal with adverse circumstances. Laguna citizens are called upon to apply a series of simple tips in their day to day that can help reduce the demand for water. For example, taking a five-minute shower a day, instead of a bath, which saves up to 400 liters per week. In the same way, avoiding leaving the tap running while shaving or cleaning your teeth can save you from spending more than 10,000 liters a year.
Other recommendations have to do with the installation of dispensers in household taps, not overwatering private garden areas or resorting to automatic car washes, since these facilities are designed to make efficient use of the resource. .
The La Laguna City Council, faced with this circumstance, has already implemented several mitigation and restriction measures in different sports facilities. Priority is also being given to the use of reclaimed water for works, street cleaning and sewage network cleaning.
