SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 21 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The evolution of the fire that affects the island of Tenerife since the night of August 15, and after six active days, is “favorable” although the area of Izaña, in La Orotava, and Malabrigo, in Güímar is concerned.
This has been revealed in the early morning press conference on Monday after the coordination meeting of the emergency services, which have updated the data pointing out that the condition is 13,383 burned hectares in a perimeter of about 83 kilometers and which has caused that there are currently some 969 people housed in authorized centers after the eviction of their homes and 300 pets.
The situation of this Monday has also required requesting the general population to use the FPP2 masks, since the smoke is very close to the ground, as pointed out by the head of Civil Protection and Emergency Attention of the Government of the Canary Islands, Montserrat Román, who has called for “a lot of caution” because the particles found in the environment “are the finest.”
