The President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijohas reported that the rise in temperatures has led to the reactivation of different sources in the fire that has already devastated 11,612 hectares in Tenerife.

“Some areas that were already stabilized have been reactivated by the heat and the voracity of the flames,” he explains. However, he ensures that the fire services attend each of these reactivations as quickly as possible to try to control them.

Today’s objective is that, before sunset, the area of Pico Cho Marcial be perimeter and stabilized. Clavijo says that it is intended to control the fire, so that “it dies only in areas where there is no vegetation” and thus prevent the flames from spreading to the southern slope.

Likewise, on the northern flank, efforts continue to consolidate the perimeter with the action of numerous firefighting forces that attack the fire as quickly and effectively as possible.

In El Rosario, three Brifor teams and aerial means have had to deal with a reactivated hot spot on Mount El Cerro, while in El Sauzal several areas have been reactivated: one in Las Baboseras and another in La Fuente, according to informs the City Council.

PROBLEMS WITH WATER IN LA ESPERANZA AND SANTA ÚRSULA

The mayors of the municipalities of El Rosario and Santa Úrsula ask the population for maximum understanding in the face of the lack of water supply.

In La Esperanza, Escolástico Gil, has reported that the home service in certain areas is being affected with temporary cuts due to the effects of the Aguamansa and Río-Portezuelo canals and the supply so that the tanker trucks can fight the fire.

“We request understanding in the face of such a critical situation for our mountains and for the entire Island,” published the official social networks of the Consistory.

For his part, the mayor of Santa Úrsula, Juan Manuel Alonso, has announced that not only are they suffering cuts due to the failure in the channels, but that the water was presenting a cloudy appearance.

For this reason, the City Council has enabled a water delivery point for the people affected in the premises next to the Plaza de San Luis.
