The Tenerife fire has already reached the figure of 5,000 hectares burned in just over three days, since it was declared last Tuesday night to Wednesday in Arafo and Candelaria. The affected area falls within a 50 kilometer perimeter.
Despite the fact that the fire continues out of control, the president of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, has explained that the day has evolved “well”, which has led to the lifting of the confinement in the entire town of La Esperanza, in the Municipality of El Rosario.
However, the negative note has to do with the fact that the fire has exceeded the Cho Marcial peak, in the municipality of Güímar, thus exceeding part of the perimeter.
As a precaution, the area of El Pelado, Las Dehesas and Las Coloradas, in the municipality of Güímar, and all of Izaña, including the four centers in the area, have been evacuated. In Las Lagunetas there have been “small material damages”, specifically two buildings in the Quimpi camp have been affected by the flames. Since last Tuesday, the fire has forced the preventive evacuation of a total of 4,509 residents and the confinement of 3,820 people. At the moment, there are 114 people staying in the shelters and approximately a hundred pets.

On the other hand, Clavijo has explained that it has been possible to recover the aerial means affected by a technical incident, as well as recalled that this Saturday a Kamov helicopter will be incorporated into the extinction work: “We have high expectations in the unloading capacity of that helicopter”.
The fire affects a total of ten municipalities (Arafo, Candelaria, El Rosario, La Orotava, Santa Úrsula, La Victoria, El Sauzal, Tacoronte, La Matanza and Güímar) affecting forests (pine forests), mostly in the mount of La Esperanza and the forest crown.
By municipalities, Arafo has an affectation of 44% of the fire; Candlemas of 35%; Santa Úrsula of 20%; The Victory of Acentejo of 15%; The Rosary of 13%; El Sauzal 7%; La Orotava 5%; The Slaughter of 4%; and Tacoronte of 1%, pending to see what is the affectation in the municipality of Güímar.

The break in the Aguamansa canal could be repaired this Saturday
The president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, has pointed out that from the direction of the emergency carried out by the Government of the Canary Islands, the population has been requested, especially the northern municipalities and some nuclei of La Laguna and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a consumption responsible for water
The owners of the canal, the Tenerife Fire Consortium team and technicians from the Tenerife Island Water Council have tried to repair the break, but the fire has prevented access to the hydraulic infrastructure. However, in the afternoon it was possible to access it and if conditions allow it tomorrow morning, the breakage would be fixed.
In this way, flows are being diverted from a point prior to the rupture to the North Canal, through the so-called Bajante de la Morra, which allows it to be distributed among the affected municipalities.

226 troops overnight
The Canarian president has started the press conference with the latest data on the fire, thanking the work carried out by all the firefighting personnel. “The hours and fatigue are piling up and people continue to give their all.”
During the night some 226 troops will continue to work by land, to which must be added another 100 in terms of security and 40 in terms of logistics. During the day on Saturday, 265 troops will work on land extinction work and there will be 19 air resources that will fight the flames. The downloads you make this Friday account for a total of 81.
