Navarro urges Endesa to file for the blackouts to 800 residents of Tamaimo

The municipal government of Santiago del Teide urges the Government of the Canary Islands to open a file to the Endesa electricity company in the face of “the numerous service blackouts that have affected more than 800 residents of the town of Tamaimo in recent days.” The mayor, Emilio Navarro, warns in the document sent to the Executive that “the consequences have been aggravated by the extreme temperatures that we have been suffering since last August 10.”

Emilio Navarro demands that the regional government “demand” the electricity company “to assume responsibility for what happened and give a definitive solution to the breakdowns and supply cuts that have been affecting said town in recent days.” The intermittent and frequent suspension of the electricity supply to the population of Tamaimo has had “negative consequences on the well-being of the residents during the heat wave», he points out.

The councilor of Santiago del Teide explains that “from the City Council we have managed the request and we will do everything possible so that the episodes of intermittent power cuts that the town of Tamaimo has been suffering in recent days are not reproduced again.” It emphasizes that, “without a doubt, it is an unsustainable and unfair situation that, with the aggravation of the maximum temperatures that we have been suffering, has affected the health and well-being of our neighbors, generating multiple negative consequences in their homes that they cannot afford. today in the 21st century.”
