A stubble fire broke out this Monday afternoon in the vicinity of the Tenerife North airport, as reported by 1-1-2 Canarias on its Twitter account. Specifically, the fire broke out at around 3:00 p.m. on Mayber street, in the Barrio Nuevo area in the municipality of La Laguna, in a scrub area.
The emergency agency activated the necessary emergency resources on site to put out the flames after receiving various calls warning of the start of this fire. Hours later, the focus has been controlled and work is underway to cool the area.
As Aena has confirmed to this newspaper, the fire is not affecting the activity of the airport, which continues to operate on Monday afternoon with total normality.
