DA/Efe.| The Granadilla de Abona City Council has announced that it has proceeded this Saturday to the opening of the central beaches, Leocadio Machado and Playa Chica, in the duneafter indicating the results of the counter-analysis that the quality of the water is suitable for bathing, since the indices of E.Coli bacteria were below 500 NMP/100 ml and Enterococci below 185 NMP/100 ml, in the three coastal points.

From the Consistory it is reported that only the central beach exceeded the levels allowed for bathing, but as a precaution the security perimeter was extended from Playa Chica to Leocadio Machado.

This measure was taken to guarantee the safety of the bathers, pending the results of the samples taken yesterday, Friday, and which today have confirmed the good quality of the water.

On behalf of the local administration, a study of the real state of the network in the central beach area was requested yesterday Friday from the Entemanser company, which was awarded the maintenance service for the sanitation network.

That, apart from requesting an urgent meeting with the Tenerife Island Water Council for the purpose of finding out the status of the works of the Granadilla treatment plant, a system that will fully purify the wastewater of San Isidro and the entire coast of the municipality.
