SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Councilors of Industry and Commerce of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Manuel Fernández and Krysten Martín, held a working meeting today Wednesday with the general secretary of CEOE Tenerife, Eduardo Bezares, in order to advance the strategic lines to stimulate the economy of the island.

Manuel Fernández pointed out that these meetings “attend to the will of the insular government to work hand in hand with the economic agents of the island when it comes to laying the foundations to mark the strategic lines that are going to help us stimulate the economy of Tenerife during this mandate.”

During the meeting, issues related to the promotion and support of trade were also addressed, as well as the promotion of projects financed by Europe, which serve to inject dynamism into the island’s economy. In this line, the general secretary of the CEOE valued “very positively” the fact that the structure of the insular government includes a Ministry of Industry for the first time in the history of the Institution.

On this issue, Manuel Fernández indicated that in the Cabildo project “industry plays a fundamental role as a tool for economic diversification”, and made special reference to the actions that the area is going to carry out in the Industrial Estate of Granadilla, since the Cabildo is currently processing the project of insular interest of this space with the aim that it can be developed.

Fernández concluded that another of the aspects in which they are working is the reactivation of the southern logistics platform, as a node of economic activity, which includes such important infrastructures as the port, the industrial estate or the airport.
