SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 7 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Childhood and Family Unit of the Institute of Social and Socio-Health Care (IASS) has opened the pazo so that the town councils of Tenerife can access the subsidies aimed at supporting the acquisition of material and equipment for toy libraries municipal.
The Cabildo will allocate 100,000 euros to this end, a credit that may be extended, in the event that contributions are received from other administrations or items are reallocated, up to a maximum amount of 200,000 euros.
The Minister of Social Action, Águeda Fumero, has valued this line of subsidies “very positively”, and encourages town councils throughout the island to apply to join them, since they allow “maintaining the quality of municipal toy libraries, having pedagogical spaces, where the physical and mental development of the children who use these resources is effectively stimulated”.
The IASS Childhood and Family Unit maintains this project to support the network of municipal toy libraries in Tenerife, with the intention of improving them.
Águeda Fumero stressed that this line of economic support “allows the promotion of children’s and community animation, through playful methodologies, where the use and loan of toys, materials and activities are offered in an organized manner, with the guidance of a qualified professional “
Eligible toy libraries must be open and in operation, being able to allocate this subsidy to expenses for the improvement of the facilities or the purchase of material and equipment that can be inventoried or fungible of a socio-educational and recreational nature.
In the event that a council is the owner of several toy libraries, they must submit a single application, stating in the same information regarding the number of resources in operation and the total calculation of places, understood as the maximum number of users to whom it can serve simultaneously.
