The Cabildo de Tenerife has approved in the Governing Council the award of a contract for the next three years, for an amount of 52 million euros, which includes actions on more than 800 kilometers of roads that due to their characteristics require special attention in terms of to its conservation both in the center, north, west and south of the island, as well as the Anaga area.
The objective of the works is to guarantee the attention of specialized teams to improve the conditions of the road both in terms of infrastructure and the repair of potholes, profiling of ditches or the repair of roadsides. In the same way, the cleaning of products and spills on the road is contemplated and maintaining road markings in conditions of correct visibility, among other services.
Within the Tourism area, the project to refurbish the Punta de Teno dock and jetty, in the municipality of Buenavista del Norte, was awarded for an amount of around 197,000 euros, approximately, and an execution period of nine months. In the area of the Primary Sector and Animal Welfare, the Governing Council also approved the contract to undertake the works for the project to improve and pave the La Cumbrita Rural Road, in the municipality of Guía de Isora. The work has a bidding budget of 644,414.97 euros and has a completion period of 10 months.
In the Natural Environment area, various projects were approved for an amount of around 4.1 million euros. Thus, the Governing Council awarded the supply of materials for the signaling of infrastructures and equipment for public use in the natural environment of Tenerife for the next four years for approximately 1.4 million euros. Likewise, the commission to the public company Gesplan was approved for the execution of the repopulation service and associated cultural care for an amount that exceeds 1.5 million euros and an execution period of 41 months.
The Governing Council also approved the contracting file for the works included in the project for the execution of a storage shed for forestry vehicles and machinery for the extinction of forest fires (BRIFOR) for an amount of approximately 641,000 euros. The works, once awarded, will have an execution period of eight months.
Similarly, the order to the public company Tragsa for the improvement of the roads and tracks of the Rural Park of Teno was approved for an amount of approximately 513,000 euros. The object of the order is the execution of the improvement service of certain rural roads located in the area of the Teno rural park, as well as the maintenance of those roads identified as access and escape routes in the subprogram for the protection of nuclei against forest fires and that are within the scope of work defined in this assignment.
In the Municipal Cooperation and Housing area, the contract was awarded for the execution of renovation works on the Santa Cruz-Valleseco sewerage networks, which are included in the Municipal Cooperation Island Plan. The works have a multi-year budget amounting to 2,350,000 euros and an execution period of 24 months.
The increase in the budget was also approved for the refurbishment works of the municipal tanks and supply networks of the municipality of Fasnia, and more specifically, the tanks of Pino del Agua, Fasnia, La Zarza and Las Eras. This modification is aimed at solving the consequences of the accumulation of salt precipitates on the surfaces in contact with water, as well as the reconstruction of the key room of the La Zarza deposit. The works have a budget of 60,506.82 euros and a completion period of three months.
