The second edition of the “Sandanza 2023” Dance Festival lands again in Santiago del Teide

On August 4 and 5, Santiago del Teide will once again host its “Sandanza 2023” Dance Festival, which on this occasion will celebrate its second edition and will take place in the Plaza Norberto García de La Vigilia -Puerto de Santiago-; Thus constituting, for the second consecutive year, a multipurpose space where art in movement becomes the epicenter of public attention, allowing dance to continue to consolidate in our municipality.

In this second edition there will be three island companies that will make up the program of the aforementioned sample, which seeks to gradually cover the diversity of styles that human beings have created through the art of dance.

Thus, the aforementioned festival will have its inauguration next Friday, August 4, at 6:30 p.m., with the development of the Parade of the Reciclown Theater Company “El paso de los cisnes”, a show that performs an itinerant series of numbers where dance, humor and the festive spirit typical of the parade are present, attending at times to the rigor of classical ballet and at others to the self-confidence.

Also, on Saturday, August 5, at 6:30 p.m. We will have the participation of the Lamajara Collective, which with its show “Labranza” will offer a proposal that will transport the viewer to immerse themselves in a rural aesthetic full of action, which are a reflection of the common, of the everyday, of the authentic and are wrapped for those stories of yesteryear that from their simplicity move an entire environment and charge it with identity.

Finally, it will be at 7:00 p.m. when the Bankora collective stages its dance show “Bankora, a covered rooster”, which alludes to “the cockerels who kept their rooster hidden from their competitors to strengthen their character and bravery. This is the origin of the expression be a covered rooster, which extends and is no longer exclusive to cockfighting. That someone is considered a covered rooster means that he is a person whose abilities in some field remain hidden until a certain moment”.

Those who wish to obtain more information in this regard should contact the consistory by phone 922-86-31-27, Ext. 300 and/or 302, via WhatsApp(696-88-38-56) and/or via email via cultura@santiagodelteide.es.
