SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated the yellow warning (risk) in Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura due to a new episode of heat in which maximum temperatures of up to 36 degrees can be recorded, as reported through its portal Web.

This Sunday, July 30, there will be a yellow warning starting at eleven in the morning in the east, south and west of Gran Canaria due to maximum temperatures of 34 degrees, mainly affecting the midlands and inland areas facing the south of the island.

On Monday, July 31, the yellow warning will remain in place in Gran Canaria, where the thermometers may reach a maximum of 36 degrees, and it will be extended to Fuerteventura and the east, south and west of Tenerife, affecting mainly the midlands and areas of the southern interior of both islands.

As a consequence of this new episode of heat, the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has already issued notices of the Preventive Action Plan for the Effects of Excess Temperatures on Health in various municipalities of Gran Canaria.

Thus, there will be a red notice (high risk) from July 31 to August 1 in Agüimes; and from July 30 to 31 and August 1 in Mogán, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Santa Lucía de Tirajana and Tejeda.
