SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife prohibits making fires from 8:00 a.m. on this Sunday, July 30, in recreational areas, taking into account the weather circumstances and the declaration of a fire risk alert decreed by the Government of the Canary Islands on the island. .

The Island Corporation has activated grade 1 measures that include the prohibition of making fire in recreational areas (stoves, barbecues, gas stoves, bonfires, etc.), pyrotechnic displays and work with machinery or tools that can generate sparks in spaces agricultural or forestry, such as brushcutters and welding equipment.

The Minister of the Natural Environment, Blanca Pérez, pointed out that in the face of the risk situation “preventive measures must be adopted to guarantee the safety of people and prevent forest fires from occurring.” Likewise, it calls on the population to follow the recommendations of the authorities, such as not accessing or staying in the forest areas of the island of Tenerife and taking extreme precautions throughout the island territory with any activity that could generate fires (tobacco, use of generators, electrical and pyrotechnic material).
