SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 25 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Parliament of the Canary Islands constitutes this Wednesday nine parliamentary commissions of the XI Legislature, which will work in the next four years on issues such as the Interior, Autonomous Development and Justice; Education, Vocational Training and Sports; Budgets and Treasury; Tourism and Employment; Agriculture, Livestock and fishing; Public Works, Transportation and Housing; Ecological Transition; Territorial Policy, and Social Rights, Equality, Diversity and Youth.

The constitutive sessions will take place this Wednesday between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the Cabildos Room and in the Library Room, and all of them can be followed live through the website and social networks of the Parliament of the Canary Islands.

This Thursday the 27th, the constitutive sessions of eight other commissions will continue, those dedicated to Health; Economy, Industry and Commerce; Disability; Regulation; Statute of Chamber Members and Petitions; European Affairs and External Action; of Control of Radiotelevisión Canaria, and of Relations with the Audience of Accounts of the Canary Islands. They can also be followed live through www.parcan.es between 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

The Plenary Session of the Parliament of the Canary Islands approved this Tuesday the creation of the new commission for Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture, which will be permanent during the XI Legislature. It will be constituted on Friday, July 28 at 12:30 p.m.

The Regulation of the Parliament of the Canary Islands of 2023 indicates in its Chapter III regarding the composition of the parliamentary commissions that “they will be formed by the deputies that the parliamentary groups designate in the number that, with respect to each one, the Parliament Table indicates, once the Board of Spokesmen has been heard, and in proportion to the numerical importance of each group in the Chamber. Parliamentary groups with a number of deputies less than five may only designate one person for each commission”.

The president of the Chamber, Astrid Pérez, will be able to convene and preside over any commission, although the Regulation Commission and the General Commission of Cabildos will be part of it. The distribution agreed by the Board and the Board of Spokespersons establishes that there will be six representatives from the Socialist Group, four from the Nationalist Group, three from the Popular Group, one from Nueva Canarias, one from Agrupación Socialista Gomera, one from Vox and one from the Mixed Group (AHI).
