The autonomous communities reduce the term to pay their suppliers in May, to an average of 23.48 days

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE/MADRID, July 24 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The average period for payment to suppliers in the Canary Islands stood at 16.56 days in May, which is 55.27% less than the previous month, when the average payment period was 37.02 days, which makes the archipelago the autonomous community with the greatest registered decrease.

In the communities as a whole, the PMP stood at 23.48 days in May, which represents a decrease of 2.4 days compared to the previous month, 9.27% less, reaching a figure below the 30 days established as the legal limit.

As reported by the Ministry of Finance this Monday through a statement, Murcia continues to lead as the region that takes the longest to pay its suppliers, with an average of 54 days, although the community has registered a sharp decrease in the period compared to the month of April, when the average was 80.68 days.

The second autonomous community with a longer PMP, although far from Murcia, is Asturias, with a delay of 31.94 days. However, the administration has cut the period by 1.08% compared to the previous month.

After Murcia and Asturias is La Rioja (29.17 days), Catalonia (26.78 days); Navarra (26.14 days); Valencian Community (26.04 days); Castilla y León (24.90 days); Balearic Islands (23.29 days); Aragon (21.88 days); Madrid (21.87 days); Castilla-La Mancha (20.52 days); Basque Country (18.94 days); Canary Islands (16.56); Cantabria (16.22 days); Andalusia (15.44 days); Galicia (11.14 days) and Extremadura (10.76 days).

It should be remembered that the maximum period established by the regulations for the payment of suppliers is 30 days, so Murcia and Asturias would be the only autonomous communities that fail to comply with it in the month of May.

THE PMP OF THE CENTRAL ADMINISTRATION: 27.88 DAYS

For its part, the average payment period of the Central Administration was estimated at 27.88 days in May, which represents a decrease of 4.61 days in relation to April, while the term of the Social Security Funds stood at 10.95 days, which represents a decrease of 1.37 days.

Regarding the large town halls, the average PMP was 35.09 days in May, a decrease of slightly less than 4 days. Seville ranks as the city that takes the longest to pay its suppliers (46.08 days). Behind are A Coruña (32.98 days); Murcia (31.79 days); Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (24.77 days); Madrid (24.74 days); Valencia (23.99 days); Malaga (20.38); Zaragoza (17.62 days); Palma (16.21 days) and Barcelona (10.76 days).
