A conflicted Jet2 passenger was allegedly subjected to an electric shock and dragged from a flight after his behavior forced the pilots to divert the plane heading for Tenerifecausing a delay of 27 hours to the rest of the travelers.

The flight, which departed from Edinburgh, was forced to land on the island of Porto Santo, in Madeira, Portugal, more than 300 miles – approximately 482 kilometers – from its destination, Tenerife.

A video obtained by Portuguese newspaper Diário de Notícias shows a 26-year-old man being dragged away by four members of airport security, dressed in high-visibility yellow jackets, after being ejected from the plane.

In the background, a second passenger can be seen being thrown off the plane by two other security officers.

As the man is led down the track with the hands handcuffed behind the backhe tries to struggle to free himself from the firm grip of the security personnel, but without success.

When a fifth security guard arrives on scenethe passenger, who is wearing gray sweatpants, a blue T-shirt, and white sneakers, yells aggressively in their direction.

This incident is the latest in a series of problems on Jet2 flights, after an “extremely drunk” passenger tried to open a plane door earlier this month, while another tourist was kicked off a flight for allegedly “urinating on his brother.”

This time, the Portuguese police claimed that the “disorderly” passenger behavior “raised immediate concerns among the crew.”

The Madeira Regional Command of the Public Security Police (PSP) reported that a foreign citizen was arrested “for the crime of disobedience to the legitimate order of the commander of an aircraft.”

Forced to use “an electric weapon with low lethal potential”

Police also stated that they were forced to use “a low lethal potential electric weapon” to “ensure the safety of the other passengers and crew” after the man refused to cooperate.

“The citizen was finally detained by the police present there for the crime of disobedience, following normal procedures, and the flight continued to its destination.“, they added.

A Jet2 spokesperson told MailOnline:”We can confirm that flight LS727 from Edinburgh to Tenerife was diverted to Porto Santo on Monday 17 July so that police could disembark a disruptive passenger“.

“As a result of this diversion, the flight from Tenerife to Edinburgh was subsequently delayed, however our teams did everything possible to look after customers including providing hotel accommodation and refreshments“added the company.

Having , probably a drunk passenger leaves, all passengers, pilot and staff vulnerable and it isn’t fair.

Anyone seeming to be drunk should not be allowed on the plane full stop.

    Or stop the alcohol completely.
