SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 22 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Turismo de La Gomera participates through a professional visit in the sporting event of orienteering races ‘O Ringen’. The main objective of the visit that took place today in the Swedish city of Are is to create contacts that may be of interest from a tourist point of view for the island.
Recognized as one of the most important orienteering sporting events at an international level, ‘O Ringen’ is held every year in different cities of the country and, on this occasion, has more than 95 exhibitors. In addition, it brings together more than 30,000 people linked to this sport.
La Gomera takes advantage of this visit to present its tourism possibilities to professionals in the sector, mainly tour operators and clubs that carry out training trips in order to propose the island as a possible destination for their clients and members.
Aware that Sweden is one of the main sources of tourists to the Canary Islands, and that residents’ assessment of the Island is, in general, highly favourable, Turismo de La Gomera seeks to take advantage of this scenario to attract tourists with a marked interest in nature, interaction with the local environment, local gastronomic products and, above all, sport.
Their participation is in line with the strategic lines contemplated in the 2020/2023 Promotional Strategic Plan. Thus, the presence in this event represents an opportunity to position La Gomera as a quality alternative for a public that seeks experiences in a nature destination and that has a wide range of outdoor activities.
