SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 17 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Government Council of the Canary Islands has agreed on Monday the appointment of Carlos Gustavo Díaz as the new director of the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS) within a wide list of names with which the new Canary Islands Executive has begun to shape the structure.

At a press conference, the president, Fernando Clavijo, has indicated that the objective is to “consolidate the structure” –it has been done, there are senior positions that continue to come from the Pact of Flowers– and now priority has been given to the “most urgent areas ” where management “presses much more” such as Health, Education or finance.

The president has explained that the objective is to have the structure closed before August 31 and “to have the best and the best” in charge of the departments of the autonomous community.

The new appointments in the Government of the Canary Islands are, in the Presidency of the Government, Ceferino José Marrero Fariña, Secretary General; David Pérez-Dionis, Deputy Minister of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government; Alfonso Cabello, Deputy Minister of the Presidency of the Government; José María Riestra, Deputy Minister of Legal Services; Octavio Caraballo; General Director of Organic Coordination and Strategic Projects; Cristina García Maffiotte, General Director of Communication; and Francisco Rodríguez del Castillo, General Director of Legal Services

The Vice-Presidency of the Government has been appointed Eduardo Antonio Hernández Rosa, Deputy Minister of the Cabinet of the Vice-Presidency of the Government; María Auxiliadora Pérez, Vice Minister of Coordination and Institutional Relations of the Vice Presidency of the Government; José David Santos, General Director of Planning and Information; Andrés Miguel González Díaz, General Director of Analysis and Studies.

In Economy, Industry, Commerce and the Self-Employed, Marcos Barrera González will be technical secretary general; Gustavo González de Vega, Deputy Minister of Economy and Internationalization; Felipe Afonso El Jaber, Deputy Minister of Industry, Commerce and Consumption; and David Mille Pomposo, general director of Commerce and Consumption.

In the Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Mobility, Francisco Javier González Díaz will occupy the Vice Ministry of Infrastructures; Eloísa Gil Peñate, the General Technical Secretary; and Antonio Acosta will be general director of Coasts and Management of the Canary Islands Maritime Space

Regarding the Ministry of Finance and Relations with the European Union, María Belén Díaz Elías has been appointed technical general secretary; Gabriel Andrés Megías Martínez, Deputy Minister of Finance and Relations with the European Union; José Ramón Falcón Granados, General Director of Planning and Budget; Maria Teresa Bosch Llinares,
general director of the Treasury and Financial Policy; Celia Alberto Pérez, General Director of European Affairs; Lidia Patricia Pereira Saavedra, Comptroller General; and Raquel Peligero Molina, director of the Canary Islands Tax Agency.

In the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports, Manuel Peinado Bosch will be technical general secretary; José Manuel Cabrera Delgado, Vice Minister of Education; Mónica Ramírez Barbosa, General Director of Personnel and Teacher Training; and David Pablos González, General Director of Teaching Planning, Inclusion and Innovation

Regarding the Ministry of Territorial Policy, Territorial Cohesion and Aguas Onán, Cruz Díaz will be General Director of Territorial Planning. And within the Ministry of Tourism and Employment, Francisco Hernández Padilla has been appointed technical secretary general; Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Martínez, General Director of Planning, Training and Tourism Promotion; and José Ramón Rodríguez Albertus, General Director of Labor

In the Ministry of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture, Horacio Umpiérrez will be Vice Minister of Culture and Cultural Heritage; Ciro Gutiérrez, Vice Minister of Universities and Research. And in the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Energy, Celia María Martín, technical general secretary; and Miguel Ángel Morcuende Hurtado, General Director of Natural Spaces and Biodiversity.

Regarding the Ministry of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Childhood and Families, María Cristina Arceo Melián will be Deputy Minister of Equality and Diversity; and Francisco Candil González, Vice Minister of Social Welfare.

In the Ministry of Health, Esther García has been appointed general technical secretary; María Jesús López, general secretary of the Canary Islands Health Service; Antonia Pérez, General Director of Assistance Programs; Sebastián Fuentes Tarajano, General Director of Economic Resources; José Ángel González, General Director of Human Resources; Fernando López Pamo, General Director of Mental Health and Addictions and Rita Tristancho Ajamil, General Director of Patients and Chronicity.

Finally, in the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food Sovereignty, Ana Isabel Barrera Cabrera, general technical secretary; Eduardo García Cabello, Deputy Minister of the Primary Sector; Andrés Díaz Matoso, General Director of Livestock; and Javier Gutiérrez Taño, General Director of Agriculture.
